John, you said in prior post that the Sixties did not begin in earnest until Nov63. I agree; and would add that they did not end until the troops came home from Vietnam in summer of 1973. The Sixties: arrived late, stayed too long*, but was still a little short.
*I would still take them over the dreadful Watergate-Stagflation-Malaise-Iran Seventies! (The Seventies ended with Reagan Inauguration and release of hostages in Jan81.)

    Supe,

The period prior to Nov 22 1963 we were still post WW2 and in the Ike mode. We were still watching Ozzie and Harriet and Father Knows Best.

By the mid 60s Maynard G Krebs the beatnik had morphed into a hippie.

Whatever happened to Maynard? He seemed to suddenly just disappear; as if he was lost at sea or something.

I say the Eighties ended with Gulf War ceasefire and the Nineties of course ended on 2001-09-10.

So did the Naughties end with Bear Stearns (or Lehman) or are we still in them?

    Anyway, enjoy the family time!

    I’m afraid they ended Nov. 4, 2008.
