Seven Year Lepidoptery

The 5s WI5 10s butterfly was about 5 when I wrote this morning. As I compose this electronic missive it is about 6.5 basis points. That is tending to the extremely cheap which is at 8 basis points.

Just curious but is that supposed to read “WI7” maybe? Given the 7yr auction I assume that was the WI issue in that fly. Not nitpicking, just asking. And have a good Thanksgiving tomorrow too.

That is the when issued 7 year or in the jargon of the trade the “WI”. And enjoy your holiday, too.

I knew the jargon, I was just curious because you wrote “WI5” instead of “WI7” in the post. That’s all. Doing the current 5 against the WI5 and the current 10s on a fly seems…..redudant? Or at the very least, not a fly but a 1×2 spread.
